"WHY_DREAMS LIKE A LOOSE ENGINE (autoportrait)" A farewell to the mechanical age, with a text by Melody Sumner Carnahan- (app. 30 min.long) Sounds, controlled in real-time by the lady' s glove, come for the most part from small servo motors. This piece is performed either solo by Sonami, or with saxophonist John Ingle. More elaborate performances include live control of servo motors with the lady's glove. The sounds of the motors are then catpured and processed while the movement of the motors project moving shadows. G3 laptop running Max-MSP (Cycling'74). ***************************************** "CONVERSATION WITH A LIGHT BULB" (app. 25 min.long) Live performance with the lady's glove controlling light bulbs along with sampled, processed data sounds. This piece stems from a collaboration with Jocelyn Robert, commissioned by Radio Canada. ***************************************** "MISMATCH" (app. 25 min. long) A collaboration with saxophonist John Ingle. The saxophone is sampled live with the lady's glove and is then processed and mixed with the live saxophone in a high energy improvisational exchange.
