SHOPPING LIST TO BUILD SOME SIMPLE CIRCUITS ~ $55-$100
Please order parts by September 5th class (try to combine with other students to reduce shipping charge or drive to Jameco- Some parts at Radio Shack)
Laetitia will order some parts for the class (loose resistors and capacitors - it will be about $5.00 per student)
Essential: (make sure that you have access to tools listed in the "optional " category)
@ Jameco (mail order, or drive - it is close to SF airport)
at Radio Shack (walk-in, may have to go to more than one store, often out of supplies)
Laetitia will order these loose parts for the class ~ $5.00 for each student):
- Piezos (x2 for $1.00) from All Electronics
- Alligator clips $4.39
- Resistors 100ohms-1 Meg) comes to about $1. each student
- Capacitors polarized and not polarized (0.001, 0.001, 0.01, .1mf, 1mf, 10mf, 47 mf, 100 mf, 220 mf..) comes to about $2. each student
- Photocells @ 12.95 (grab bag - 14 of you ordered it, so $ 0.92 each .)
- red leds (1 grab bag @ 6.95 ea. will be about .50 per students who ordered parts)

OPTIONAL (all from Jameco):
- Starter soldering kit $19.95
(All the basics to get you soldering. Includes standard 30W soldering iron (UL approved, with long-life tip), plus long nose pliers, wire strippers, side cutters, and a sponge.)
- Screwdriver set $12.95 (optional - just a couple of small screwdrivers / philips will do)
- Pocket multimeter $9.65
- 9V dc power supply $9.39

SALVAGE (or go to Goodwill if you don't have these items):
- Speakers & switches out of electronic toys or appliances
- Wires (telephone wires are great)...
- USB game controller, mouse, keyboard
- Small, cheap battery operated sound toy
- Small dc motors (out of pagers, ...)_
- Small battery operated radio, with built in speaker and dial (not digital dial)
BRING to class an extension cord (when we plan on building circuits)
