Suzanne THORPE:
"Framed" is on view from Nov.12 to 19 in the library, on the balcony

Framed is about peripheral consciousness; coexisting perspectives and stratified realities that are concurrent with each other in any given moment of time. It is also a piece about choices, the choices we make and the ones that are made for us, the negotiation between circumstances, imagined or real, and ideals.
For each empty picture frame I have composed a corresponding composition, using sonic source material from that perspective. Simply sit on the stool, and listen to the composition labeled to correspond with each frame.
Participants can engage with Framed in one of two ways:
1. An mp3 player is placed on reserve at the front desk of the library for participants to sign out and engage with the installation.
or
2. Download the mp3's of each piece from this site, and install them on your own mp3 player.
Thank you for listening.
